- Thus far, Azerbaijani products have been demonstrated at 42 international exhibitions

A press conference was held on 28 February dedicated to the activities of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO in 2022, the work done to promote the brand "Made in Azerbaijan," and planned activities.
Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev provided information about measures taken in the field of non-oil sector development, encouragement of local production, manufacturing of competitive non-oil products, creating favorable conditions for exporters, promotion of the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in foreign countries, and encouragement of foreign investments.
It was noted that in 2022 Azerbaijani companies presented their products using a single country stand at such international exhibitions as Prodexpo in Russia, Gulfood in the UAE as well as at the food industry exhibition in Baku organized for one of the leading Russian companies X5 Group. In 2023, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs will continue to participate in international exhibitions. In late January this year, Azerbaijani products were exhibited at the International Green Week exhibition held in Berlin. 15 Azerbaijani companies operating in the field of winemaking, production of dried fruits, mineral water, meat, and meat products, salt, tea, and confectionery products participated in this exhibition with a single country stand "Made in Azerbaijan". Thus far, Azerbaijani products have been displayed at 42 international exhibitions. Our national products are also presented at Azerbaijani trade houses operating in foreign countries. It was noted that Azerbaijani trade missions abroad continue their activities to promote the brand "Made in Azerbaijan," a favorable business, investment climate, and expansion of non-oil exports.
Over 177,000 manats of support have been paid to exporters in the past year based on the entrepreneurs' applications for individual participation in the exhibitions organized in various foreign countries. In 2022, non-oil products were exported from Azerbaijan to 107 countries of the world. Compared to the previous year, the non-oil exports increased by 12.3% last year, exceeding $3 billion for the first time.
It was noted that AZPROMO is working to expand cooperation and establish new links with many investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, and other relevant institutions. Last year, a memorandum of understanding was signed with 12 similar institutions from 8 countries. This year, the work will continue in this area.
It was also noted at the press conference that measures will be continuously implemented to promote the brand "Made in Azerbaijan," the national products in foreign markets as well as to promote imports and production. This will include the Ministry of Economy's support, the participation of Azerbaijani companies in various international exhibitions thanks to AZPROMO's organization, the demonstration of our products at the country's single stand "Made in Azerbaijan," and the organization of export missions to some countries. In addition, several countries operating in various economic sectors will organize procurement missions to Azerbaijan. Work will be continued toward the development of the non-oil sector, diversification of the country's economy, and increasing sales of local products in foreign markets.
Having underlined the attraction of direct foreign investments into the country's economy as one of the main activities of AZPROMO, Yusif Abdullayev provided information on the work implemented in this area and measures to be taken. It was informed that during the current year, events will be held in Turkey, Japan, Qatar, Israel, and other countries in the 'Investment Roadshow' format.
It was stated at the event that in general, the amount of foreign direct investments attracted in the non-oil sector for 9 months of 2022 increased 2.4 times compared to the same period of the previous year and totaled $1.4 billion.
It was emphasized at the press conference that measures will be continuously implemented to promote export and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and expand business ties of local companies with foreign partners as well as increase investments in the economy of Azerbaijan
