Azerbaijani and Latvian business circles met



Latvian President Egils Levits attended an event participated by representatives of companies operating in the transport, water management, construction, leasing, and other areas of the two countries.

 

Organized jointly by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), the roundtable was attended by the President of Latvia Egils Levits, who is currently on an official visit to our country. Representatives of two countries' companies working in the field of transport, water management, construction, leasing, and other areas participated in the event alongside the officials.

 

Latvian President Egils Levits stressed the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, noting the special role of Azerbaijani and Latvian entrepreneurs in this development and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs' successful operations in Latvia.

 

Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev focused on the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, pointing out measures taken by AZPROMO in this area and the opportunities created by the investment environment of our country for foreign investors. It was noted that there are great opportunities for the expansion of partnerships with Latvian companies in the liberated territories and industrial parks of Azerbaijan.

 

LIAA CEO Kaspars Roikalns noted that Latvia attaches great importance to the development of economic relations with Azerbaijan, sharing his views on areas for further expansion of relations and stressing that his country is interested in cooperation on the restoration of Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation.

 

Chairman of the Board of Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Orhan Mammadov noted that the developing bilateral relations between the two countries encourage further expansion of trade and investment cooperation in the private sector, particularly between Azerbaijani and Latvian SMBs. He provided information about the support measures KOBIA can implement and stressed that the Agency is ready to support the initiatives of entrepreneurs concerning cooperation.

 

The event continued with presentations by business people from the two countries and a question-and-answer session.
