The Ministry of Economy hosted a meeting

The development of bilateral relations, the current state of trade and economic relations, and potential opportunities for cooperation were discussed at the meeting with the head of the Latvian President's Secretariat Andris Teikmanis.

 

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the head of the Latvian President's Secretariat Andris Teikmanis.

 

The meeting participants noted the role of mutual official visits and meetings in the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia. It was noted that the diversification of trade relations is one of the priorities of our economic agenda, with various mechanisms being applied to develop cooperation in this area. In this regard, the Intergovernmental Commission represents an effective platform. Minister Mikayil Jabbarov provided information on the economic reforms implemented in our country, a favorable investment climate, and applicable preferences.

 

Mr. Teikmanis noted that Latvia attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan and emphasized the significance of discussions concerning the expansion of relations between the two countries.

 

The parties exchanged views on expanding trade and economic relations and partnership, including cooperation in the field of 'green' energy, high-tech, pharmaceuticals, food security, shipping, etc.

 

Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation development signed

 

A memorandum of understanding was signed during the meeting between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA). According to the document, it is planned to establish and develop long-term, effective, and mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at implementing investment projects in various areas of mutual interest to the parties.
