The Joint Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tatarstan held its 3rd meeting alongside a Tatarstan-Azerbaijan business forum and discussions dedicated to the intensification of economic relations.
Meeting took place with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation
A meeting was held between the delegation headed by the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties noted that there are great opportunities for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan in various economic sectors, and discussed the measures to be taken to strengthen cooperation.

The Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in trade-economic, scientific-technical, and cultural fields between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation held its 3rd meeting in Kazan.
During the event, the Minister of Economy presented his views on the diversification of Azerbaijani-Russian economic relations, highlighting the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation between the relevant institutions and the great potential for cooperation in reconstruction and rehabilitation activities carried out in our territories liberated from occupation. Noting the successful relations between our countries in many areas, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Industry and Trade, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission Oleg Korobchenko said that Tatarstan companies have real proposals for cooperation with the business community of Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of accelerating work in this area.
The parties also discussed the prospects for the activation of trade and economic relations.
During the meeting, the Co-Chairmen of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission signed a Protocol on the results of the 3rd meeting. The document provides for the strengthening of partnerships in the digital economy, science, education, youth, and sports as well as cultural, humanitarian, social, and tourism areas.
In addition, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Economic Zones Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and 'Innovation and Industrial Park – Technopark in the field of high technology' within the Tatarstan 'Khimgrad' Technopolis.
Tatarstan-Azerbaijan business forum held
As part of the visit, a Tatar-Azerbaijani Business Forum was held in Kazan, organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO. The event was attended by officials from both sides and representatives of companies operating in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, construction, ICT, finance, and consulting.
Mikayil Jabbarov highly appreciated the modern technologies (know-how) used in Tatarstan's industrial zones and advanced enterprises, and noted the importance of establishing successful cooperation in this area, as the economies of Azerbaijan and Tatarstan have several similarities. Thus, the favorable investment climate created in Azerbaijan, the favorable geographical location of our country, and the developed transport and logistic infrastructure open wide prospects for Tatarstan entrepreneurs.
Oleg Korobchenko emphasized the interest of Tatarstan business people in participating in the projects implemented in Azerbaijan and noted that business events play an invaluable role in establishing relations between entrepreneurs and increasing the efficiency of existing ties.
In their speeches, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBÄ°A) Orkhan Mammadov, First Deputy Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, and Chairman of Board of Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageyev shared their views on cooperation between the relevant institutions and business circles of the two countries.
During the event, entrepreneurs were presented with opportunities, support mechanisms, and business initiatives in Tatarstan and Azerbaijan, and B2B meetings were held between the participating companies.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also held a meeting at the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan. At the Unified Presentation Centre of the Agency, the participants were introduced to the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan, and the possibilities of implementing joint investment prospects with Tatarstan were discussed.
