Azerbaijan and Egypt business circles convene for meeting

The meeting focused on the possibilities of deepening and diversifying the partnership between Azerbaijani and Egyptian entrepreneurs. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the event between AZPROMO and GAFI.

 

Cairo hosted a meeting of Egyptian and Azerbaijani business circles under the joint organization of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO and Egypt's General Administration of Investment and Free Zones (GAFI). The event was attended by representatives of companies operating in the industrial, food, pharmaceutical, engineering, construction, and other fields, including renewable energy, from both countries.

 

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov expressed confidence that this meeting will further promote the partnership between the countries thanks to the countries' shared political and economic interests.

 

Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev noted that the meetings between the heads of states and the meetings organized by AZPROMO between the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs created a solid basis for holding this event in Cairo. It was emphasized at the event that the Azerbaijan-Egypt Business Council will play an important role in establishing closer cooperation between business people in the field of investment and increasing mutual trade.

 

Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) President Hossam Heyba pointed out the importance of expanding direct contacts between the business communities and the participation of the private sector in both countries' initiatives for the effective use of business and investment opportunities between the two countries. Azerbaijani business people were invited to carry out business activities in Egypt.

 

During the event, AZPROMO and GAFI signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Executive Program in the field of investment attraction for 2023-2025.

Presentations were also made at the event by representatives of GAFI, the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ), and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
